The Institute for Juvenile Research (IJR) in the Department of Psychiatry is seeking a full-time (40 hrs/week), bilingual Research Associate II - Social Sciences (RA II) to support several research studies. The RA II will work on various projects under the direction of multiple principal investigators within IJR. IJR's mission is to develop and promote effective policy and practices to prevent mental health difficulties and relieve the mental health burden of children and families living in high poverty urban communities through research, teaching, and direct service.

Job Responsibilities (Essential Duties):

With guidance, training, and supervision from the Primary Investigator, candidates must be able to:
  • Perform surveys, interviews, observations or use other methods according to established research protocols.
  • Collect, process, and analyze data through interview and surveys (in both English and Spanish). Summarize research and test results (in both English and Spanish).
  • Communicate with guardians/participants (in both English and Spanish) about study activities.
  • May assist with study protocol development.
  • Coordinate the ordering, inventory and maintenance of equipment, instruments and data collection and analysis tools.
  • Prepare and contribute statistical data and pertinent information for papers, grants, and other documents.
  • Complete required documentation for regulatory agencies.
  • Facilitate groups for teens, young adults, and caregivers from diverse neighborhoods and backgrounds.
  • Conduct literature reviews and further project background information, as required.
  • Recruit and consent participants for study activities.

Job Knowledge & Skills, Education, Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in social science or related field required. A minimum of one-year related research experience. Knowledge of research concepts, practices, and procedures. Working proficiency (reading, writing, speaking) in Spanish language (native or acquired).
Benefits and Compensation:

The previously determined salary range for this position is $47,000.00 to $50,000.00.
