Overview

Beyond New Horizons (BNH) is looking for Project Engineers who are interested in leading a multi-disciplinary team responsible for implementing new projects and facility modifications, which will play a key role for the United States Department of War, at Arnold Air Force Base, TN. The Project Engineer hired into this role will coordinate across multiple departments and functions, within and external to the project, to lead the teams for various projects across Arnold AFB.

Job Summary

The Project Engineer supports the development of technical scope, requirements, estimates, and schedules associated with assigned projects. This role will synchronize complex engineering activities-including technical planning and design-by bridging Design, Systems, and Test Operations with Project manager and essential non-engineering functions. The Project Engineer will also have Supervisory duties, overseeing engineers and designers/drafters associated with the production of mechanical engineering scope.

Job Duties:

    Responsible for delivery of the engineering deliverables; plans, assigns, and directs engineering tasks on the project. Has technical and Supervisory responsibilities for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating these assignments.
  • Manages employee performance and results; utilizes company systems and tools to document results in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Communicates information that assists effective management and decision making to applicable management
  • Working with Project Controls, may support Primavera P6 to establish and maintain individual project schedules and unify them into integrated schedules to provide BNH management visibility into program resource allocations for decision making.
  • Coordinates with Project Controls and the engineering team to create, manage, maintain and update schedules in a complex project environment.
  • Develops work breakdown structures; Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules; and resource, cost and budget plans.
  • Supports Project Control in performing critical path analysis and development of timelines for completion of tasks, measuring the deliverable work packages of the project against the project plan.
  • Communicates schedule conflicts, resource constraints, and time constraints to the project team.
  • Supports the preparation of progress reports, standardized reporting procedures and the monitoring of overall project performance.
  • Communicates and publishes plans to appropriate involved individuals to ensure each person understands the overall scope of the project and when tasks are required to be started and completed.
  • Uses data gathering, management and analytical processes to predict, understand and constructively influence the time and cost outcomes of projects.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in engineering or associated scientific discipline from an accredited college or university plus at least 5 years progressive and relevant technical work experience
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret level security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network
  • Due to Air Force Security requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required for employment at AEDC

Preferred Qualifications

  • Skill in oral and written communication
  • Demonstrated skill in obtaining information with appropriate level of technical rigor and facilitating progress to completion
  • Experience working in an EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) environment
  • Understanding of schedule logic and critical path schedules
  • Knowledge on planning, application and coordination of 2-D and/or 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design processes on a project
  • Experience working with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project or related software
  • Active or previous DoD Security Clearance

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount BNH is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time jobs will be adjusted based upon the number of hours agreed to work.

Grade 08: $100,000 - $125,000/year; Grade 09: $112,000 - $140,000/year annually at Arnold AFB, Tennessee
