Job Description

Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Staff SW Engineer (multiple openings) in Austin, TX to:

  • Design code and systems that touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visa's internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability.
  • Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings.
  • Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads.
  • Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-user merchants, b2b, and business to government solutions.
  • Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services, Transaction Platforms, Real-Time Payments, and Buy Now, Pay Later Technology.
  • Identify and contribute to the development and solution strategies to team members that improve the design and functionality of interface features across one or more project features, under minimal guidance.
  • Apply standard processes on the use of programming languages (e.g. HTML, C++, Java) to write code that fulfills website modification requests and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with others to support the piloting of new technology capabilities and features that enhance the user website experience across e-commerce products.
  • Analyze bugs for simple issues and apply debugging tools to verify assumptions.
  • Up to 5% domestic travel required.
  • Position reports to the Austin, Texas office and may allow for partial telecommuting.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Security, or related technical field, followed by 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation.
  • Alternatively, a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Security, or related technical field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation.
  • Position requires experience in the following:
    • Java, building and consuming REST APIs.
    • Spring Technologies.
    • Diagraming solutions (flow, block, logical).
    • Security and Authentication standards and technologies (OAuth).
    • JavaScript and front-end technologies/frameworks (JQuery, React, Angular).
    • Building out a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipeline.
    • Database technologies: Oracle, MySql and NoSQL solutions.
    • Network architecture, VIPS, and Firewalls.
    • Docker, Kubernetes.
    • Handling vendor product and integration with internal Windows/Linux-based Applications.
    • C#, C++.
    • Building and deploying modern services and web applications with quality and scalability.
Additional Information

Worksite: Austin, TX

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements:Up to 5% domestic travel required.

Mental/Physical Requirements:This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is $163,550.00 USD to $210,300.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
