Role:
Supports and maintains in-house computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance. The person will consistently be called upon to use their system expertise and judgment to administer systems. The person must be able to use their judgment and discretion to find creative solutions to end users systems issues. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training and assistance where required.
Responsibilities:
Works with end users to identify and deliver required PC service levels.
Provides training and support to, end users and staff on computer operation and other issues.
Provides system expertise and judgment to administer systems.
Installs, configures, tests, maintains, monitors, and troubleshoots end user workstation hardware, networked peripheral devices, and networking hardware products.
Uses judgment when discussing network infrastructure and discretion when accessing system and personal files within their area of responsibility.
Finds creative solutions to end users systems issues.
Installs, configures, tests, maintains, monitors, and troubleshoots end user workstation software and networking software products.
Performs on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed.
Receives and respond to incoming calls, pages, and/or e-mails regarding PC and/or hardware problems.
Develops and maintains an inventory of all monitors, keyboards, hard drives, modems, printers, scanners, and other peripheral equipment.
Monitors and test PC performance and provide PC performance statistics and reports.
Assists in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring PC performance.
Documents instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal.
Constructs, installs, and tests customized configurations based on various platforms and operating systems.
Conducts research on computer products in support of PC procurement and development efforts. Evaluate and recommend hardware products for purchase.
Writes technical specifications for purchase of PCs, networking hardware and related products.
Recommends, schedules, and performs PC, hardware and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
Assists in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future computer hardware needs.
Supports development and implementation of new computer projects and new hardware installations.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of hardware and equipment contracts and supervise contract-based installations.
Communicates with third-party support and PC equipment vendors.
Aids in development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, maintain current knowledge of plan executables, and respond to crises in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
Provides fellow Hard Rockers and Guests with exceptional guest service.

Qualifications:
College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science or equivalent work experience.
Certifications in basic hardware repair (A+)
Excellent technical knowledge of network and PC hardware.
Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
Extensive equipment support experience with Microsoft networks
Working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards.
Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
Ability to conduct research into PC issues and products as required.
Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
Understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
Self-motivated and directed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
A. Knowledge: The level of education, experience, and training an individual must have at minimum to be considered qualified for the position.
B. Skills: Specific skills such as computer usage, communication, 10-key touch, etc.
C. Abilities: The physical components of the job and how the physical aspect is accomplished. Does the position require LIFTING 50 pounds, or does it require one to MOVE 50 pounds. Can the 50 pounds be moved using a dolly or cart? (Examples: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling, color vision, etc.)
Training
All employees are required to complete mandatory compliance training within thirty (30) days of hire date, then annually thereafter. Training marked with an asterisk below must be completed prior to reporting to their respective work area. The below courses are required for this position:
