Position Summary

The Director of Human Resources leads and coordinates the College of Business Administration (CBA) HR functions. This role ensures HR policies, procedures, and practices comply with campus, system, and regulatory requirements while promoting efficient vacancy management and strategic hiring. The Director oversees HR workflows to ensure appointments are processed accurately and on time. Serving as the college's Academic Search Coordinator, the Director also ensures hiring practices support the college's commitment to attracting and retaining a qualified workforce.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provides operational leadership for the college's human resources functions and serves as the primary resource for guidance and support on all HR matters, including recruitment, hiring and separations, job classification, salary administration and planning, onboarding, credentialing, policy interpretation, and employee relations. Advises college leadership on HR issues such as compensation, performance management, employee relations, and training and development.
  • Interpret and apply university HR policies and ensure fair, consistent implementation; develop departmental HR procedures aligned with university guidelines.
  • Review and evaluate requests for new positions and reclassifications; provide guidance on organizational structure, job duties, and position alignment.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate or deliver professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Prepare HR reports and analyses, maintain required personnel records, and ensure accurate and timely completion of HR transactions (e.g., hires, transfers, leave, and separations).
  • Supervise HR staff, providing leadership, task prioritization, mentoring, training, goal setting, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with all required employee training and university policies.
  • Oversee the College wide recruiting and search efforts for all position within CBA including Academic Professionals, Faculty and non-academic positions. Review and approve jobs descriptions prior to submitting them to various campus offices as required.
  • Participate in College and Campus wide committees, focus groups and related teams.
  • Works with various campus offices including Labor and Employee Relations, Access and Equity, Ethics, Conflict of Interest, HR (College and Campus) to resolve matters that may arise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree; preferably in a HR, business or management related field.
  • Minimum of seven years of HR experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in human resource/payroll systems.

  • Master's Degree preferred
