Position Summary: We are seeking a high-impact Senior Data Science Analyst & Engineer to bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI research and clinical application. In this role, you wont just be "training models"you will be architecting the entire lifecycle of computer vision systems that help prevent blindness and improve patient outcomes. You will join a multidisciplinary team where your code directly translates into clinical insights. From optimizing ophthalmic imaging for real-time analysis to training, scaling, and evaluating large-scale deep learning models; your work will define the next generation of ophthalmic diagnostics. Job Responsibilities: Design, develop, and deploy deep learning and computer vision models for ophthalmic imaging workflows (e.g. segmentation, anomaly detection, measuring/finding quantitative biomarkers, etc.) Build end-to-end machine/deep learning and CV systems: dataset curation and QA, annotation software/tooling, training/inference pipelines, and reproducible experiment tracking for clinical research use cases. Implement real-time imaging algorithms and GPU-accelerated pipelines to enable live or near-real-time analysis. Develop and maintain image annotation/analysis tools for model validation. Leverage HPC resources to train and evaluate large scale deep learning models. Architect cloud infrastructure for research software (using AWS or Azure services) with attention to HIPAA compliance. Collaborate closely with ophthalmologists, research staff, and imaging technicians totranslate clinical requirements into measurable ML tasks. Contribute to publications, conference submissions, and grant proposals as needed. NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $101,493.51 - $147,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
