Job Summary
The Director of Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for the Program for Cognitive Strength and Ability (PCSA), ensuring program excellence, growth, and long-term sustainability. Working in close partnership with the Co-Director of Community Care and Outreach (CCO) and the Executive Director of the Center for Engaged Aging, the Director advances program strategy, oversees operational systems, and ensures a high-quality experience for participants and families. The Director supervises an Assistant Program Manager and 20+ per diem group facilitators.
Job Responsibilities Include
Strategic and Program Leadership
Partner with the Co-Director and Executive Director on strategic planning, program growth, and evaluation.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen and expand PCSA offerings.
- Anticipate and address operational challenges to ensure program continuity and quality.
- Collaborate with Development Department to meet fundraising goals.
Operational Oversight
- Provide operational oversight and leadership for all PCSA groups, services, and program logistics.
- Supervise the Associate Program Manager, ensuring effective execution of administrative and logistical functions.
- Monitor all databases and electronic records.
- Ensure appropriate staffing, scheduling, and infrastructure to support seamless program delivery.
- Facilitate program groups as needed.
- Collaborate with Marketing Department to ensure appropriate visibility of PCSA through marketing materials, media promotions, and other opportunities.
Staff Leadership
- Serve as main PCSA representative working with colleagues across 92NY departments, with senior leadership as appropriate, and externally.
- Supervise Assistant Program Manager and 20+ per diem staff facilitators, fostering accountability, collaboration, and team cohesion.
- Responsible for hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management for program staff.
- Oversee ongoing professional development in partnership with program leadership.
Financial Oversight
- Develop and manage program budgets and financial plans in collaboration with the Executive Director.
- Monitor payroll and staffing expenditures.
- Oversee program expenses including rent and supplies.
- Ensure fiscal responsibility while advancing program priorities.
Participant and Family Engagement
- Direct onboarding and group placement of new participants in collaboration with Director CCO.
- Oversee logistical communications with participants and families, ensuring clarity and consistency.
Experience, Education, & Skills Desired
- Advanced degree in social work, non-profit management, or related field strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree required.
- 7+ years of demonstrated leadership experience in program operations and management, preferably in aging services, cognitive health, or community-based services.
- Experience supervising professionals and teams.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to delegate effectively while maintaining accountability.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Detail oriented with superior organizational skills.
- Budget management experience and financial acumen.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment while maintaining operational excellence.
- Ability to address complex challenges with professionalism and sound judgment
- Fluent in Microsoft office suite, Outlook, Salesforce, Tessitura
- An understanding of Jewish traditions and culture a plus.
Work Environment & Requirements

Compensation Range $85,000 - $95,000 The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
