Title: Outreach Technician - Medicare and LTSS - Region 3 $23.23 - $28.85 / Posted Thru: 5-3-26 Location: Remote/Virtual - Must Live and Work in Michigan Travel and Residency Required Within the Following Region 3 Counties: Clare, Gladwin, Isabella, Midland, Bay, Saginaw, Gratiot, Tuscola, Huron, Sanilac, and Lapeer Purpose: This position will assist with both the Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) and No Wrong Door (NWD) programs, providing direct, targeted outreach to both local agencies, and to individuals who may benefit from the services offered in both programs. This position will provide local outreach on the prevention of Medicare fraud, abuse, and errors, to Medicare beneficiaries, their caregivers and families for the SMP program. This position will also provide local outreach and information on Long Term Services and Supports and Medicare Counseling for the MI Options, NWD program. This position will work under the SMP Fraud Analyst as well as with the MI Options Volunteer Manager within the Community Options Supports and Services Section of the Aging, Community Living and Supports Bureau within MDHHS. Duties and Responsibilities: Duty 1: Present, share, and follow-up with local agencies with information on Long Term Services and Supports and Medicare Counseling for the MI Options, NWD program.
Duty 2: Provide local outreach on the prevention of Medicare fraud, abuse, and errors, to Medicare beneficiaries, their caregivers and families for the SMP program.
Duty 3: Always represent the best interests of MPHI and MDHHS.
Qualifications/Requirements: Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience: One year of experience performing administrative support activities, equivalent to the 7-level in state service. Important Skills and Characteristics: * Ability to comfortably and effectively communicate and present in front of large groups of people. * Ability to adapt to different audiences. * Timeliness and organizational skills to ensure successful presentations.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:Regular use of computers. Extensive travel regionally in state to local senior centers, community centers, religious institutions, and other locations to provide presentations on long-term supports and services and Medicare fraud. This will include transporting computers and presentation equipment, as well as materials to and from presentations, including but not limited to cards, papers, and giveaway items. This will include presentations of up to an hour in front of audiences. RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE WORK OF OTHERS: No assigned responsibility. IMPACT ON PROJECTS, SERVICES AND OPERATIONS: This position has a direct impact on the quality of services provided by MPHI to MDHHS. REQUIRED COMMUNICATION
