Job Description:

The Probe PPE Engineering Technician I supports wafer probe and test operations by assisting Process, Product, and Test Engineering teams with probe card hardware, equipment support, and test setups. This role focuses on executing defined technical tasks, maintaining documentation and workstreams, and supporting new product and hardware rollouts while developing deeper probe and test expertise. The Technician-I work closely with engineers, production specialists, and technicians to help ensure optimal equipment availability and stable probe performance.

Shift: 1st 8:00am-4:30pm

Key Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support Probe and Test operations through hands-on assistance with probe card hardware, test equipment, and related processes
  • Assist PPE and Test Engineers with product testing, engineering setups, and new product or hardware introductions
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting on probe-related equipment, including Probe Analyzer tools, following documented procedures
  • Helping coordinate probe equipment and process activities with PPE and Production leads to minimize production delays
  • Assist in identifying recurring equipment or process issues and escalating findings to engineering for resolution
  • Maintain effective communication between Test Engineering, Product Engineering, technicians, and production specialists to support equipment availability
  • Support data collection efforts and assist with providing necessary information for engineering decision-making
  • Assist with ordering, tracking, and inventory of probe cards, hardware, and consumables
  • Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and workstream tracking for probe-related activities
  • Participate in product and equipment transfers under guidance
  • Assist in training and development of production personnel on higher-level probe and test tasks as experience is gained
  • Willingness to provide after-hours support or participate in an on-call rotation, including weekends, as required

Requirements/Qualifications:

Required

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience working in a semiconductor fab, probe, or test environment
  • Basic knowledge of probe and test equipment, processes, and systems
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment while supporting multiple tasks or priorities
  • Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Positive, can-do attitude with willingness to learn and support team objectives

Preferred

  • Associate degree (AA) in a technical fieldor2+ years of relevant semiconductor manufacturing experience
  • Prior experience supporting semiconductor test or probe equipment
  • Exposure to working with PPE, Test Engineers, or Product Engineers
  • Experience participating in high-profile or cross-functional projects
  • Familiarity with documentation systems, workstream tracking, or inventory management

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment for extended periods
  • Wear proper PPE and cleanroom attire
  • Vision requirements include color, close, distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception

Development & Growth

This position is intended as adevelopmental Technician I role, with opportunities to expand probe card ownership, equipment troubleshooting responsibility, and engineering support scope as skills and experience increase.

The hourly pay range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $19-27/hr.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
