Production Planner
Location: New York, NY (Onsite)
Duration: 5-Month Contract
Pay Rate: $25-$30/hour Job Summary
The Production Planner is responsible for forecasting activities across all distribution channels, including retail, tour, and web. This role develops and maintains forecast models by leveraging business intelligence, historical data, and cross-functional insights. Forecast modeling is central to this position, which also supports strategic supply chain planning in partnership with Retail, Consumer Engagement, and Finance teams. Key Responsibilities Forecasting & Analysis
- Analyze historical sales trends, identify demand drivers, and develop statistical forecast models
- Evaluate forecast accuracy and continuously refine models based on performance
- Implement statistical models to assess risk, error, and growth projections
- Monitor forecast error trends and recommend improvements
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with sales, tour, web, and finance teams to gather inputs and align on forecasts
- Facilitate collaborative planning meetings to achieve consensus on demand forecasts
- Coordinate research and analysis to reconcile forecast variances and update assumptions
Planning & Strategy
- Provide input to Supply Planning on inventory strategies, including new product launches and phase-outs
- Support volume planning processes (latest estimates and annual planning cycles)
- Contribute to customer replenishment strategies by identifying risks and opportunities
Systems & Reporting
- Maintain demand planning systems, ensuring data accuracy and proper product hierarchy
- Evolve data planning models to better capture channel-specific demand
- Identify and incorporate relevant market and competitive intelligence
- Prepare and maintain reports related to the demand planning process
Continuous Improvement
- Refine forecasting systems and methodologies to improve accuracy
- Drive collaboration across teams to enhance knowledge sharing and planning effectiveness
- Ensure forecasts reflect current market conditions to support supply chain readiness
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in demand planning or a related field
- Strong understanding of forecasting methods, statistics, and their financial/operational impact
- Experience with SAP/APO or other demand planning tools preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to facilitate cross-functional discussions and drive consensus
