Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm

JOB SUMMARY:
The Specialist I, Learning and Development, is responsible for facilitation, graphic design, and user interface of course development, collaboration with the Learning and Development (L&D) team on instructional research and analysis on learners' contexts, and assessment of content of the corporate training program to include staff and management development, specific departmental training, policies and procedures, employee orientation, and any other training needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Development, Implementation and Presentation of Training Program(s):
- The L&D Specialist will collaborate with internal customers and the L&D team on course development and revision including course design documents, learning objectives, course content, scenarios, media scripts, practice activities, post-tests, and will evaluate off the shelf training programs. The incumbent will take the lead on facilitating assigned classroom and webinar training. As such, they will organize resources and coordinate training session logistics such as location, supplies, and catering. The L&D Specialist will manage efficiently so that tasks are completed and on time, problems are anticipated, and team members are clear on project requirements and schedules.
- The L&D Specialist will work with subject matter experts (SME) and identify target audience's training needs, conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts, identifies instructional end goals, and identifies criteria used to judge learner's performance and develop assessment instruments. The incumbent will create content that matches organizational culture and apply tested instructional design theories, practices, and methods.
- The L&D Specialist will work in a variety of mediums to provide engaging experience in all environments including classroom, webinar, E-learning, or blended content.
- The L&D Specialist will work with the Manager of Organizational Development to evaluate effectiveness and articulate the return on investment (ROI) of the L&D programs.
Business Unit Training Support:
- The L&D Specialist will respond to requests to meet the specific needs of departments/divisions throughout the organization. Specific training needs will vary from soft skills, or policies and procedures, to more specific department-related topics. These topics may require research to obtain an acceptable level of expertise. The incumbent will work with the Manager of Organizational Development and department managers to identify specific training needs, review and evaluate training programs to ensure the training needs of the organization are being fulfilled. Analyze existing training program delivery, content, measures effectiveness, and recommend program changes.
Learning Management Administration:
- The L&D Specialist will act as a system administrator for Goodwill of Colorado's learning and performance management systems.
- The L&D Specialist will work with key departments in curating training documentation/resources and supporting document access and control procedures.
Other:
- Ensure all reported matters are handled in a timely manner by conducting thorough research, interviews, and data analysis during the investigative phase, and communicating findings to appropriate management.
- Advise other managers on human resources issues, such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment concerns, ensuring timely and appropriate action is taken.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
- A Bachelors degree in Corporate Training and Development, Vocational Education, Adult Education, or related field.
- A Certification in lieu of a degree will be considered; equivalent education and experience may apply.
Experience:
- Previous experience working for a Not-for-profit is a plus.
- The L&D Specialist must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in training, to include Management Training.
Other:
- The incumbent should demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, writing and speaking clearly and concisely; demonstrate the ability to interact with various types of internal and external customers, and persons from a broad cultural spectrum.
- Expert facilitation skills with the competency to listen and respond effectively to challenging questions.
- The ability to analyze information objectively and make a reasoned judgment is a must.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, and solid knowledge of course development software (Camtasia, iSpring, or similar software) and at least one (1) Learning Management System is required.
- Understanding of E-Learning creation, user interface, graphic, and visual design skills is a must.
- Facilitation experience of online classroom instruction is required.
- The L&D Specialist must demonstrate a high level of energy and model integrity.
- It is also preferred that the incumbent have the ability to relate effectively to disabled and disadvantaged persons.
- The incumbent must have the ability to work cooperatively, demonstrate excellent organizational skills and be creative and motivating.
- The incumbent must also conduct self in a professional manner and maintain a professional appearance that enhances the firm's reputation.
- The incumbent will spend time working in a general office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, the incumbent may travel to Goodwill event locations where environmental conditions may vary. The primary work location will be either the Dever and/or Colorado Springs Headquarters. This is a hybrid position with at least three (3) days a week (Monday, Thursday, and one (1) flex day).
- Overtime and weekend hours may be required; flexibility in schedule as well as some travel to attend meetings and required training.

*Per auto vehicle insurance carrier requirements: For applicants/employees to qualify for inclusion on the Goodwill driver insurance schedule, for purpose of driving Goodwill fleet vehicles, or for purpose of receiving company mileage reimbursement they must be at least:
- 21 years of age (not engaged in passenger transportation),
