Position Summary

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor is responsible for leading a small team of manufacturing engineers or manufacturing support roles within a single manufacturing site or multiple production lines of a larger manufacturing site. Oversees design implementation and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment under the guidance of a Manufacturing or Manufacturing Engineering leader role. As the Facility EHS Manager, will also lead, manage and coordinate all aspects of facility goals and objectives in Environment, Health and Safety (EHS). Reports to Division Manufacturing Manager or Plant Manager.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manufacturing Process Flow - Oversees the planning and implementation of manufacturing processes equipment, and tooling. Develops and manages a portfolio of projects, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful completion of projects. Collaborates with cross-functional leadership teams, including design, quality, and supply chain, in support of manufacturing processes improvement. Ensures compliance with all safety regulations and company policies in the manufacturing process.
  • Process Improvement - Implements strategies to drive innovation and improve manufacturing processes and technologies. Identifies, recommends and leads improvement plans that impact site level operations. May lead cross functional teams in process improvement initiatives.
  • People Management - Mentors and develops team members, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their roles. Provides feedback on individual performance to staff. Ensures staff is trained appropriately to perform assigned work.
  • System Planning - Accountable for productivity and quality metrics and provides progress reports to management and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Budget & Expense Planning - Supports capital budgeting process and responsible for managing capital projects and capital spending. May oversee resource allocation and monitoring budget controls within team.
  • Internal and/or Supplier Interaction - Communicates with Tier 2 or Tier 3 suppliers and /or internal customers to define product specifications and parameters. Collaborates within the single plant to deliver manufacturing solutions.
  • Develop and implement programs and procedures to meet facility objectives and targets in EHS. Key focus points include: Accident Prevention, EHS Regulatory Compliance, Energy management and use reduction, Waste Minimization, and Management Systems (as required).
  • Coordinate all EHS training: Support and manage corrective actions from Corporate EHS audits; Onsite contact for Corporate EHS Department, and under Corporate direction, manage EPA actions such as, but not limited to, NOV's, cleanups and complaints; Onsite contacts for Corporate EHS Department and under their direction manage OSHA actions such as, but not limited to, inspections, letters of non-compliance, informal conferences; Direct all applicable EHS reporting requirements in a timely and accurate manner; Maintain necessary EHS records.

  • Advanced technical knowledge and ability to support new product development and/or complex problems faced by junior team members
  • Applies strong project management skills to daily tasks to enhance efficiencies within team and/or plant activities
  • A strong working knowledge of EHS regulations.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related Engineering field with 4+ years of experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment a must.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to support the development of strategic plans in coordination with Managers to manage and mitigate future challenges for the team and/or plant
  • Effective in ensuring support team achieves consistent execution of manufacturing processes while maintaining compliant with safety guidelines
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze process flows for enhancements to quality, cost reduction, and throughput
  • Effective in coordinating the execution of new product development through partnership with product development, supply chain, and operations
  • Ability to plan and implement EHS programs.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with management as well as associates from the floor.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish, both verbally and in written form.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to work in an environment with exposure to dust, noise, fumes
  • Must be able to travel and work out of the office, in a manufacturing environment.

Competitive Compensation

  • Pay Range: $100300 to $166900 annually
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
