Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Regional Manager, HHW & Municipal Services The Regional Manager, HHW & Municipal Services is responsible for executing Arcwood's Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) growth strategy within their assigned region. This role bridges the gap between Sales and Operations, requiring the Manager to identify new business opportunities while coordinating with Field Service Delivery teams and third-party vendors. The Regional Manager is responsible for growth and execution, ensuring the retention and expansion of municipal accounts while delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality HHW collection events.

Partnering closely with the Program Manager, Household Hazardous Waste this role translates national strategy into regional action-owning local client relationships, supporting and winning bids, and leading the end-to-end execution of HHW events.


HHW Event Planning & Field Execution

  • Leads the planning and execution of HHW collection events across the region
  • Develops and implements event-specific operational plans including staffing coordination, equipment, transportation and vendors logistics, as well as site layout, traffic flow and safety protocols
  • Oversees event execution to ensure regulatory compliance, safe and compliant handling of hazardous materials, positive customer experiences, and the adherence to municipal requirements and SLAs
  • Serves as the onsite leader or escalation point during events

Regional Growth & Account Management

  • Maintains and grows relationships with existing municipal customers to ensure high retention and repeat HHW events
  • In partnership with the Program Manager, identifies and pursues regional HHW opportunities, including participation in RFPs, bids, and renewals
  • Supports bid development by providing local market insight, pricing input, and operational feasibility
  • Achieves regional sales targets through a mix of renewals, expansions, and new business wins
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for municipalities within the region

Regional Operations Coordination

  • Executes regional HHW events in accordance with standardized processes and protocols; ensures consistency, compliance, and operational excellence across the region
  • Collaborates with regional peers and the HHW National Program Manager to share insights, develop best practices, and drive continuous improvement in the planning and delivery of HHW programs nationwide
  • Partners with Operations teams to ensure resource availability and scheduling alignment
  • Coordinates third-party vendors, disposal facilities, and transportation providers
  • Ensures all waste streams are properly profiled, approved, and documented

Reporting & Financial Accountability

  • Tracks and reports on regional HHW performance including revenue and margin-by-event, volume of waste collected and event throughput and efficiency metrics
  • Ensures accurate and timely billing, cost tracking, and reconciliation
  • Completes and submits project summaries and supporting documentation within defined timelines

Client Relationship Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Conducts post-event debriefs with customers to review performance and identify improvements
  • Captures lessons learned to improve future event execution and bid competitiveness
  • Maintains relationships with municipal customers to drive repeat business and multi-year contracts
  • Conducts post-event reviews with customers to identify improvements and upsell opportunities

Safety & Compliance Leadership

  • Ensures all events meet Federal, State, and Local regulatory requirements
  • Reinforces Arcwood safety culture and protocols across all field activities
  • Partners with Compliance teams to maintain proper documentation and audit readiness
  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization


Education

- Bachelor's degree (required); degree in chemistry, engineering, environmental science or other technical field (preferred)


Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in hazardous waste management or environmental services (required)
