Marriott Syracuse Downtown seeks a Human Resource Coordinator to conduct day to day operation of the hotel People and Culture department which includes but not limited to:

Creating a positive environment focusing on associate recognition, greet and communicate effectively in a timely fashion with internal and external guests to the People and Culture department, assisting with Crescent and hotel brand training to foster positive attitudes towards company culture and goals, respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, programs and escalating associate concerns and issues.

Here is what you will be doing each day as a Human Resource Coordinator:



  • Assist associates whenever possible with requests and/or information. Attempt to answer and satisfy the associate with his/her concern so that he/she does not have to wait.
  • Assist departments with recruiting and onboarding.
  • Create or update Human Resource bulletin boards and other posting locations as needed.
  • Assist with employee relations events and recognition, as needed, e.g. Rising Star program, Anniversary Awards program, hotel brand required meetings, etc.
  • Explain elements of various benefits to associates as required.
  • Assist with filing and archive terminated files.
  • Prepare department correspondence and memos as needed.
  • Schedule and hold orientation sessions for new hires and prepare necessary paperwork.
  • Ensure associate files are audited regularly for proper certifications on all required trainings such as Serve Safe, TIPS, Safety trainings, including monthly orientation and upload certificates into Ultipro.
  • Understand brand specific and Crescent audit requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    • Our Human Resource Coordinator must be available to work Monday - Friday, Shift hours are: 8:30am-5:00pm.
    • Attention to detail and organizational skills required.
    • Orientation and onboarding experience preferred.

    Qualifications
    Experience
    1 - 2 years: Experience working in an office setting required. Experience working in Human Resources preferred. (required)
