Under the supervision of the Cardiology Nurse Manager and Chief of Electrophysiology, guided by the policies and procedures of the Ambulatory Care Center, and in collaboration with the physicians and other clinical staff in the Electrophysiology Clinic, the Clinical Nurse 2 is responsible for providing safe, efficient nursing care to patients in the outpatient Cardiology practices. Triages patients and responds appropriately according to protocol and nursing assessment. The Clinical Nurse 2 utilizes the nursing process (Assessment, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation) to provide safe and therapeutic clinical care. The Clinical Nurse 2 also provides clinical support to Providers and participates as part of the health care team to assure coordination and continuity of patient care.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of one year recent experience as a Registered Nurse in a cardiology ambulatory practice or cardiology electrophysiology practice including cardiac device clinics.Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of CaliforniaActive American Heart Association CPR Certification


Preferred Qualifications
Strongly preferred minimum of one year experience in Cardiology.Recent Experience in the use of Epic Electronic Medical Record documentation.Adult and Geriatrics preferred.Ability to work competently and efficiently with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel & Work

Salary Information


The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.


Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
