The UCSF Pediatric Perioperative Resource Team (PPRT) provides nursing coverage to the Pediatric Perioperative units at Mission Bay, Oakland, and Walnut Creek campuses. This is a unique float position, overseeing the care of patients within the 9 bed Mission Bay Operating Room, 12 Bed Level One Trauma Oakland Operating Room, and 3 Bed Walnut Creek Ambulatory Care Center. The Perioperative nurses are adaptable, taking on challenging assignments and providing staff coverage where they are needed the most. Our Perioperative Nurses are cross trained in caring for patients across all specialties and work closely with different inter-professional teams. Being part of the PPRT is an amazing opportunity to join a highly skilled and dynamic team of nurses, techs, and surgeons who are making a difference for our perioperative patients and their families.

Required Qualifications:

  • Three years' full-time inpatient Pediatric Operating Room (OR) RN clinical experience
  • Proficiency in circulating general, laparoscopic, orthopedic, ENT, urology, and neurosurgical cases in a pediatric acute care setting.
  • The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations
  • Excellent verbal and written skills. Must be well organized and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and work independently and under pressure.
  • Basic computer keyboard skills and general PC knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • General Surgery, Ortho, Neuro, Level 1 trauma experience

  • Proficiency in functioning as a scrub nurse

  • Specialty Certification - CNOR

  • BSN

License/Certification:

  • Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
  • Active American Heart Association CPR Certification

Salary Information


The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.


Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
