Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.


  • Possess the specialized knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide care for people with
  • physical disabilities and chronic illness.
  • Collects, reports, analyzes and provides data on an ongoing basis and as required by other health
  • care team in accordance to organization standards
  • Coordinates nursing care activities in collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary
  • rehabilitation team to facilitate achievement of overall goals.
  • Performs other position-related duties as assigned such as audits, IRF assessments, transportation
  • of patients, pick up or cleaning
  • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills to develop a rapport with clients, their
  • families, and health team members
  • Ensure all equipment are in good working condition and maintain an adequate inventory of supplies.
  • Manage emergency equipment and emergency responses
  • Manage staffing to ensure adequate skill mix for safe patient care. Coordinate break schedules for all
  • staff in the shift.
  • Applies nursing research to clinical practice and participates in nursing practice committees to meet
  • unit specific goals in a rehab setting

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $93.47 - $ 121.11 (Hourly Rate).

Required:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
  • Current healthcare provider CPR certification
  • ACLS for Adult Critical Care
  • This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
  • 2-3-years RN experience in Acute Care Hospital Setting
  • Experience with holistic approach to meeting patients medical, vocational, educational, and environmental needs.

Preferred:

  • BSN or CRRN (Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse)
  • Charge nurse experience
  • Experience in Acute Rehabilitation Care strongly preferred, but combination of education, other experience and specialty training may be considered
  • Demonstrate competency in ARU nursing.
