Job Description

Employee Relations Business Partner

Location :Austin Tx

Hybrid schedule 3 days in office and 2 days remote

The Employee Relations & Compliance Business Partner will engage in the development, planning, and implementation of employee relations policies and procedures. Investigate, resolve, or escalate complex workplace issues to ensure resolution, consistency, fairness, and legal compliance. Advise, train, and consult employees on policies, performance management, corrective action, and issue resolution. Perform various employee relations duties, including employee counseling, equal employment opportunity, and/or labor relations. Coordinate grievance resolution, investigate allegations of unlawful discrimination, and draft position statements and other responses as necessary. Coordinate performance management and resolve employee relations issues.

Primary areas include, employee relations, performance management, policies and procedures, and regulatory compliance, with responsibility for managing and/or facilitating specific projects and programs to support business needs. The ERC HRBP will support across all U.S. regions in alignment with the Company and Human Resources strategic goals, including:

  • Partners with leadership, legal, and regional HR Business Partners. Ensures Human Resources objectives lead to the achievement of business objectives.
  • Communicates and provides guidance to ensure integrity of all human resources policies and procedures.
  • Provide counsel and coaching to management and employees on employee relations issues and performance management. Documenting actions and progress.
  • Manage potential employee relations issues by leading intake sessions, investigate as appropriate, and solicit necessary resources or experts.
  • Collaborates with Information Security group on compliance and counseling issues related to misuse of company confidential information.
  • Facilitate formal learning activities and other development sessions as needed in alignment with organization development.
  • Seeks opportunities for process improvements/optimization and the design of new processes, including automation and/or transfer of relevant tasks to workday
  • Contribute as a project leader or project team member on various Human Resources continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead with data and analytics when executing major responsibilities.
  • Keeps self and others informed of professional Human Resources trends and developments by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies.
  • Performs additional duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in business-related field, human resources or employment law (or equivalent work experience required). Minimum of 8 years of related work experience.
  • Experience handling employee complaints and grievances: Addressing and investigating the concerns raised by employees, ensuring fair and timely resolutions, and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Experience managing disciplinary processes: Assisting management in implementing disciplinary actions, ensuring compliance with company policies, and conducting investigations if necessary.
  • Ability to develop and implement employee policies: Collaborating with HR and management to create, review, and update policies, procedures, and programs that align with legal requirements and promote a productive work environment
  • Compliance with employment laws: Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, and staying updated on changes and developments in labor regulations.
  • Must possess strong business acumen, organizational skills, have strong communication skills and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills, including use of data, problem solving, and technology to effectively support learning and development needs
  • Proven experience with problem-solving, decision-making, and multi-tasking to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ability to carry out human resources responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint.
  • 35% Travel to other regional offices. Primary office location could be in Austin, TX or Chaska, MN.

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 pounds. This position also requires 8 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.
