Title: Human Resources Representative

Full Time/Exempt

Reports To: Director of HR

General Summary: Supports employees by providing guidance on company benefits, policies, and procedures. Maintains a working knowledge of key employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation, and state leave regulations. Demonstrates strong attention to detail with the ability to manage complex reporting requirements and ensure accurate completion of all mandatory documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains organized and compliant manner of FMLA/STD/LOA/ADA notification, tracking and administration, updating HR Director on pertinent information regarding employees on any LOA. Leave includes various state mandated plans.
  • Assists management and supervisory staff with personnel matters in relation to following Company policy and procedures.
  • Initiates investigation process regarding a request for an employee termination of employment by a member of the supervisory/management staff, for review, with the Director of HR, to ensure proper procedures are followed and documentation is in order prior to an employee being released.
  • Professional business letter writing as needed and in conjunction with requirements of duties listed above.
  • Participates in the planning and execution of special projects initiated by the Director of Human Resources and does related work as required.
  • Assist Department with answering phones.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Education and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma with at least 2-years experience in a Human Resources Department or related field.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Understanding of basic fundamental employment laws with a focus in employment laws related to FMLA, ADA, and Workers' Compensation. Knowledge of state of CA leave laws is a plus.
  • Must possess strong people/communication skills with ability to communicate professionally at all levels.
  • Ability to write professional business letters and correspondence.
  • Proficiency in PC and software applications, i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel/spreadsheets.
  • Ability to communicate, professionally, at all levels.
