At Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo), located in Richland, Washington, we are working to provide a sustainable future for the historic Hanford area through the protection of the Columbia River and the remediation of the Central Plateau. As the Nuclear Safety Manager, you will have overall responsibility for leadership and management of assigned management team that provide Nuclear Safety, Transportation Safety and Criticality Safety support to CPCCo projects and operations. Includes development and maintenance of Nuclear Safety documents and programs and the overall Transportation Safety program for Hanford. Assigned safety bases cover multiple existing facilities, and development of new safety bases presently in process.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Ensure the establishment and maintenance of a 10 CFR 830 compliant safety basis program. * Responsible for development and maintenance of CPCCo's Nuclear Safety Bases. * Responsible for implementation of Nuclear Safety, and Criticality Safety programs and processes for CPCCo facilities and Transportation Safety for the Hanford site. * Provide leadership for assigned nuclear and criticality safety team members, manage and professionally develop assigned nuclear safety staff, and provide direction and oversight for subcontractors. * Interface with facility management and HFO in identifying and resolving nuclear safety issues and concerns. * Ensure assigned staff, and subcontractors are adequately trained and qualified to develop nuclear safety products including Unreviewed Safety Question Determinations, hazard analysis, accident analysis, Technical Safety Requirements, Documented Safety Analysis and Justification for Continued Operations. * Plan, perform and direct performance of assessments to promote continuous process improvement. * Implement, maintain and improve Nuclear Safety, Criticality Safety and Transportation Safety process, policies and procedures. * Participate in CPCCo Engineering leadership functions. * Maintain an environment where employees are free to raise safety issues, ethical concerns, or improvement initiatives.
Basic Qualifications
* Manager Grade 23 - Bachelor's of Science degree in an engineering or scientific discipline plus 14 years of relevant experience and at least 4 years of required relevant experience must be nuclear experience.
The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact. The level offered to the selected candidate will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience.
Desired Qualifications
* Excellent written and oral communications. * Extensive experience working in Nuclear Safety Engineering, preferably with knowledge of DOE-STD-1189-2016, DOE-STD-3009-2014, DOE-STD-1120-2016, DOE-STD-1027-2018, DOE Order 460.1-c and DOE-STD-5506-2021. * Operating Nuclear Facility Safety Basis experience. * Deactivation, Decommissioning, Decontamination, and Demolition Nuclear Safety Basis experience. * Project Management Experience.
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.
Expected annualized pay range based on full time schedule (40 hours per week):
* Grade 23: $157,700 - $276,250
In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.

* Relocation Eligibility: Must be located greater than 50 miles from Richland, WA 99352. If eligible for relocation, the Not to Exceed (NTE) range offered to the selected candidate will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience in relation to the position grade level offered. The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact.
