The impact you'll make

As a Quality Engineer at Lam, you will make an impact by ensuring manufacturing processes and products meet established quality standards. You will design, implement, and maintain quality assurance practices within the quality management system (QMS). In this role, you will design methods for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the accuracy of production processes and finished products. By analyzing production data and reports, you will identify trends and collaborate crossfunctionally to resolve technical, quality, and production challenges. Your expertise will help drive excellence in product design and manufacturing, supporting Lam's commitment to delivering highquality, reliable products.

What you'll do
  • Performs analysis of production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality defect detection, reporting, and improvement programs.
  • Supports disposition of supplier quality issues in manufacturing by applying defined criteria and prioritizing issues for RCCA using a combination of recurrence, part value, and impact to operations.
  • Conducts preliminary analysis of quality escapes to assign further investigation to the appropriate investigation function. Utilizes 8D methodology to drive manufacturingowned escapes through root cause analysis and CAPA (Corrective Action, Preventive Action) planning and execution.
  • Ensures systematic solutions are fully deployed and presents RCCA (rootcause corrective action) findings to stakeholders.
  • Monitors the quality of investigations and RCCA (Root Cause/Corrective Action) conducted by stakeholders (Product Groups and Supply Chain), ensuring a high probability that issues will not recur in Manufacturing.
  • Supports Global Quality and GOPS quality projects, as well as Management System Assessments (audits).
  • Performs GEMBAs on the manufacturing cleanroom floor and interviews technicians to investigate quality escapes and identify improvement opportunities, gathering information on potential causes.
  • Reviews build instructions, performs risk assessments, and provides feedback to MFE (Manufacturing Engineering) on manufacturability of deposition products. At times, updates build process instructions for manufacturing inspections and quality checks.
Who we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, with 5 years of relevant experience; or 3 years of experience with a Master's degree; or a PhD with no prior experience; or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fastpaced, dynamic, and changing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with technicians building and testing products in a cleanroom environment.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
