Manufacturing Engineer

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE MANUFACTURING ENGINEER:

  • Identify and recommend the purchase, modification, and improvement of various equipment.
  • Manages discipline-specific subset of projects and is responsible for cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Responsible for defining the scope of the project subset and selecting team members.
  • Completes non-standard engineering & design work related to the installation and retrofit of varied, complex equipment.
  • Provides advanced day-to-day equipment troubleshooting support to Maintenance.
  • Provides input into the development of standards, processes, and procedures within the department.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to less experienced Engineers within their own discipline.
  • May specialize in one of the following disciplines: Electrical, Mechanical, Civil.
  • May be responsible for managing multi-disciplined projects.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED FOR THE MANUFACTURING ENGINEER:

  • Four-year college degree required.
  • Five or more years of relevant experience required.

PREFERRED FOR THE MANUFACTURING ENGINEER:

  • Ability to work in a production-oriented environment.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
  • Ability to perform independent work requiring experience and independent judgment.
  • Application of recognized Project Management principles keying on Cost, Schedule and Performance in the implementation of projects.
  • Ability to apply engineering discipline training in the design of equipment and
    fabrications.
  • Ability to direct outside consultants, contractors, and material suppliers.
  • Skilled in the use of CAD systems (3D capabilities preferred), MS office software packages, and engineering design software packages.
