Job Summary

Manages the procurement process by negotiating pricing and managing the ordering of materials, supplies, and equipment to ensure timely delivery. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of procurement principles along with a foundational understanding of related functional areas. Supports the evaluation of supplier performance and maintains effective communication with vendors, accounting personnel, and key internal and external stakeholders. Operates independently with minimal supervision.


Essential Duties

  • Assesses and documents supplier performance to verify compliance with established standards for quality, cost, and delivery and proactively identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluates market conditions and trends to negotiate favorable pricing and terms with suppliers while minimizing risks and optimizing value for the company.
  • Exercises sound judgment and applies professional expertise to make informed and effective decisions throughout the supply chain.
  • Processes purchase orders for raw materials, products, and services while ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely execution.
  • Manages third-party rental agreements, ensuring effective management of awards, bookings, extensions, and call-offs.
  • Identifies and authorizes new vendors, ensuring full compliance with company policy and procedures.
  • Prepares formal inquiries or solicits written quotations for vendor-supplied items in accordance with requisition requirements.
  • Coordinates with vendors and the accounting department to address invoice discrepancies and ensure precise billing.
  • Works closely with receiving department and/or job site personnel to ensure timely delivery, proper handling and accuracy.
  • Ensures efficient processing and oversight of purchase orders as necessary to support timely project delivery and sustain uninterrupted operations.
  • Examines field requisitions thoroughly to ensure completeness and correctness, resolving any discrepancies or omitted detials as necessary and provides constructive feedback to project teams.
  • Communicates with vendors to obtain information on product availability, pricing updates, and delivery status.
  • Provides guidance and training to internal partners on procurement policies, systems, and best practices to promote compliance, enhance efficiency, and support alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years' experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related role.
  • Expertise in procurement, supported by comprehensive sourcing, and supply chain knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • Solid time management and task prioritization.
  • Exhibits initiative, maintains a positive attitude, and consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic.
  • Skilled negotiator with a record of securing favorable terms.
  • Outstanding organizational abilities.
  • Ability to teach, mentor and guide other partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and possess familiarity with purchasing or ERP systems.
