Pay Range: $26.00 - $31.00

Weekends- 8am-5pm

Summary:

Under the direction of the DON and the guidance of a Medical Records Consultant, the Medical Records Designee is responsible for; initiating and maintain medical records for the Health Care Facility residents in accordance with State and Federal regulations. Health records shall also be initiated and maintained for assisted living and residential residents.

Detailed responsibilities:
* Medical Records Designee
- Provides quality Customer Service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction
- Responsible for initiating, maintaining and auditing medical records to meet State and Federal standards
- Maintains accurate log of admissions, transfers and discharges
- Codes and indexes all disease entities for each resident on admission, throughout stay and on discharge Keeps all records current
- Completes quality audits and participates in quality assurance monitoring as part of the facility QA program
- Assures confidentiality of all medical record information
- Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner Wears safety equipment as required for the job Reports any safety hazards and/or accidents to supervisor
- Attends all mandatory in-service meetings Complies with all department and facilities policies and procedures

- All employees are required to follow safe work habits in order to prevent injuries to themselves, residents, visitors or other employees

Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* High School diploma or GED

Experience with Equivalent Qualifications:
Nonessential:
* 2 Years 2 years admissions/medical records
