  • Location: Groton Sub Base Galley

  • Shift: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 5:00 am through 1:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday: 6:00 am through 2:30 pm


Join our team as a Lead Mess Attendant Supervisor and help keep our dining operations running smoothly and efficiently. In this role, you'll guide a hardworking crew, support a clean and safe galley environment, and play a key part in creating a positive experience for everyone who comes through our doors.



  • Supervise a team of 10-15 Mess Attendants, providing daily direction, support, and accountability.

  • Lead and facilitate Mess Attendant Supervisor meetings to communicate expectations, updates, and performance standards.

  • Follow all guidelines and procedures as outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW).

  • Develop and maintain cleaning schedules, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on time.

  • Oversee and verify all temperature logs, sanitation logs, and related documentation for accuracy and completeness.

  • Conduct control inspections to ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and operational requirements.

  • Serve as the lead supervisor during morning shifts and weekends, acting as the point of contact when the Senior Supervisor is unavailable.

  • Provide handson support to the team, including dishwashing, sanitizing cookware, and maintaining cleanliness in all service areas.

  • Support frontofhouse operations, including dining area resets, trash removal, and maintaining cleanliness across all zones.

  • Assist with inventory checks, supply distribution, and coordination with kitchen staff.

  • Ensure proper use of PPE, identify safety concerns, and report issues to the Project Manager.

  • Maintain a safe working environment by following all sanitation, safety, and foodhandling procedures.


What You'll Need to Be Successful:



  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in food service, custodial, galley, or highvolume dining operations.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a lead, supervisory, or team-support role.

  • Experience conducting walk-throughs, quality checks, or compliance inspections in a food service or custodial environment.

  • Knowledge of safety protocols, PPE requirements, and hazard identification in a food service or custodial environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Valid RealID.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain government base access.

  • Familiarity with inventory rotation, stock management, and basic supply tracking.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to uphold high standards of cleanliness, organization, and documentation accuracy.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to relay updates and instructions clearly.

  • Strong timemanagement skills with the ability to keep the team on schedule and maintain workflow efficiency.

  • Strong problemsolving skills with the ability to address minor conflicts or performance issues with professionalism and fairness.

  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure during highvolume or challenging periods.

  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions when senior leadership is not present.

Physical & Environmental Demands:



  • Lifting: The position requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.

  • Standing and Walking: The role involves standing and walking for extended periods throughout the shift, often on hard, wet, or slippery surfaces.

  • Hand and Arm Use: Frequent use of hands and arms is required for cleaning, lifting, scrubbing, and handling kitchen tools and equipment.

  • Physical Movements: The work routinely involves bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and performing other physical movements necessary to complete daily tasks.

  • Temperature Exposure: Employees may be exposed to hot surfaces, steam, and hightemperature dishwashing equipment, as well as occasional work in cold environments such as walkin refrigerators or freezers.

  • Noise Level: The work environment can be noisy due to dish machines, equipment, and general kitchen activity.

  • Floor Conditions: Floors may be wet, humid, or slippery, and appropriate nonslip footwear may be required to ensure safety.

  • Chemical Exposure: The position requires regular use of cleaning chemicals and sanitizing agents, and proper personal protective equipment-such as gloves, aprons, or eye protection-must be worn as needed.

  • Sensory Requirements: Good vision, hearing, and handeye coordination are necessary to safely operate equipment and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
