Exciting Opportunity at MSK: The Instructional Designer II is responsible for leading the development of systems content. Designing, developing, and maintaining highly engaging, creative, and effective learning content for multi-channel delivery to customers. They will leverage their understanding of learning theory and design best practices to propose innovative learning solutions that can be delivered at scale. Utilizing E-learning development and instructional design concepts and skills to meet the requirements of the adult learner online, with a live instructor virtually, and in a classroom setting. Training will be developed and maintained using a variety of formats. The ideal candidate will have a passion for adult learning, technology, and a desire to work in a team-focused creative environment. Role Overview:
Develop instructional experiences for specialized systems and audiences. Understand the unique needs of various audiences, choose appropriate instructional strategies, and tailor content to audience needs. Design, develop, and maintain a variety of instructional materials, including presentations, guides, job aids, interactive e-learning, videos, and materials for both remote and in-person training. Devise modes of assessment, such as quizzes or stand-and-deliver experiences, to measure the effectiveness of learning initiatives. Collaborate with a range of institutional partners to collect requirements during initial discovery calls and planning meetings. Works with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and training specialists to capture project-specific knowledge needed to create content. Apply feedback to make improvements in content, resulting in high-quality content that achieves business objectives. Conduct QA of materials and maintain inventory of learning assets for the team and create the appropriate templates. Establish governance for material review for other instructional designers. Collaborates on change management of rollouts of new systems, system enhancements or other training initiatives.
Key Qualifications:
4-7 years of experience working in a training, learning and development or consulting environment required. Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Human Resources, IT, organizational development, Psychology or related field is preferred. ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) is preferred Any CIS (Certified Implementor Specialist) certification such as (ITSM, HRSD, SPM, HAM, SAM, ITOM) are nice to have but not required
Core Skills:
Business, Communications, Marketing, Human Resources, IT, organizational development, Psychology or related field. Knowledge of content authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, SnagIt, Captivate, Photoshop, Adobe Premier and/or Camtasia. Ability to prepare content with clear, concise, and compelling value. Ability to apply adult learning theory principles and instructional design techniques to the creation of interactive eLearning and blended learning solutions. Ability to incorporate multiple media elements and/or gamification in learning programs including audio, video, animation, simulation, and graphics. Ability to work collaboratively with people across functional areas and levels of the organization. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities simultaneously. Analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to define efficient processes and procedures Experienced professional with deep knowledge and actionable experience (domain level). Able to express your position and opinions in a team conversation in an effective manner. Understands technical discussions and is able to actively contribute.
Additional Information:
Schedule: Monday through Friday, work hours: 9 am to 5pm. Location: Hybrid schedule, once per week or as needed. In-person location: 633 Third Avenue Reports to: Manager, Technology Operations
