Position Summary The Human Resources Manager serves as a key HR partner to business leaders, supporting a positive, accountable, and engaged workplace across the organization. This role calls for a well-rounded HR professional with broad experience across core HR functions, strong judgment, and the ability to operate independently and make sound decisions in complex situations. With a strong focus on employee relations and engagement, this individual provides influence and support in core areas of the role while also bringing the ability to support payroll, benefits, and talent acquisition as needed. This role contributes to building, strengthening, and driving consistent HR practices across the organization. Key Responsibilities Employee Relations and Leadership Support
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on workplace concerns and policy interpretation
- Lead employee relations investigations, including interviews, documentation, and clear summaries with recommended outcomes
- Coach leaders on performance management, corrective action, and effective documentation, with a focus on addressing issues early
- Identify trends and recommend solutions to improve workplace practices and reduce risk
Employee Engagement and Culture
- Support and help drive initiatives that strengthen employee engagement and reinforce a positive workplace culture
- Assist in planning recognition programs, employee events, and engagement activities across locations
- Monitor feedback and identify opportunities to improve the employee experience
HR Operations and Cross-Functional Support
- Serve as a resource for employees and managers on HR-related questions, including payroll, benefits, and other HR processes
- Act as a backup support in payroll, benefits, and talent acquisition as needed
- Maintain accurate HR documentation and employee records
- Participate in other cross-functional initiatives that impact employee experience and operational effectiveness
Compliance and HR Practices
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Support consistent application of company policies and procedures across locations
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with professionalism
- Identify and proactively address compliance risks in partnership with HR leadership
Projects and Continuous Improvement
- Support and lead HR projects and organizational initiatives as assigned
- Assist in implementing new HR programs, policies, and process improvements across locations
- Conduct research, gather data, and provide recommendations to support HR and business decisions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience with strong, broad-based HR exposure, including employee relations
- Demonstrated ability to support or back up multiple HR functions such as payroll, benefits, or talent acquisition
- Experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or multi-site operational environment preferred
- Strong understanding of employment law and HR practices
- Proven ability to operate independently and make sound decisions in complex situations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust across the organization
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar) preferred
