Responsibilities

SUMMARY

DIGIT is looking for a Network Administrator to work at our Denver Federal Center in Lakewood, CO to oversee and implement switch provisioning (configuration) and implementation across multiple sites, including coordinating cutover logistics and change management of our network devices. The Network Administrator will support the design, implementation, monitoring, management, change management, software upgrades, problem/incident resolution, and root cause analysis of network circuits and hardware issues. Additionally the Network Administrator may be required to perform Level / Tier 2+ Network Architecting and Administration of applicable networks to include Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), and Data Centers assigned by GSA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position shall perform the following (to include but not limited to) activities:

    Oversee and implement switch provisioning (configuration) and implementation across multiple sites, including coordinating cutover logistics and change management.
  • Inventory Control and Tracking of devices
  • Unboxing, racking, and cabling network devices.
  • Provision and configuring switches and routers.
  • Boxing and shipping of devices.
  • Coordinating with POCs for shipping and deployment of network equipment.
  • Establish network monitoring for newly installed and replaced equipment.
  • Support and operate Software-Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN) sites
  • Support and maintain network equipment and configuration.
  • Manage the LAN/WAN routing protocol between the routers and perform port management, network capacity management (including planning and trending).
  • Assists with vulnerability patching and IOS upgrades.
  • Utilize and implement network orchestration tools and techniques to facilitate automated and consistent configurations, management, testing, deployment, and operations of physical and virtual devices within the network.
  • Manage status, errors, and inbound and outbound traffic statistics of all routing interfaces, bandwidth utilization, and errors of all inbound and outbound LAN/WAN circuits..
  • Analyzes, diagnoses, and recommends solutions to complex problems.
  • Escalate issues to vendor and third-party entities, as necessary and directed by the Government.
  • Generates / updates network documentation in coordination with the onsite installation resources.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and client personnel at all levels.
  • Produce knowledge base articles and SOPs.


Qualifications

CONTRACT REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

This following are REQUIRED for this position:

  • Public Trust Clearance and ITILv4 Foundation Certification by start date.
  • Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
  • Previous experience supporting and operating Software-Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN) sites
  • Previous experience configuring network devices.
  • Design and develop solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a full and/or partial remote environment with limited supervision and may supervise/lead others.
  • Possess the ability to communicate in both oral and written forms, demonstrating an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff as well as clients.
  • Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments.
  • Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.
  • Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.
  • Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
  • Maintain standard working hours per the DIGIT contract and to be available for meetings, and other collaborative efforts during working hours.

CONTRACT DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The following are DESIRED for this position:

  • Proficient in configuring the following protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and Static routes.
  • Familiar with SD-WAN architectures such as Cisco (Viptela), and VMware (VeloCloud)
  • Previous experience with TrustSec.
  • Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA).
  • Must be willing to work a variety of shifts, including holidays as scheduled.
  • Shall possess the ability to communicate in both oral and written forms, demonstrating an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff as well as clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
  • Familiarity with the following technologies: Active Directory, Windows, ServiceNow, Network Monitoring Systems (Solarwinds), Cisco Prime, Cisco DNAC, LAN/WAN control protocols.
  • Proficiency in the Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Chat, Meet, Docs, Slides, Sheets), Slack, and ServiceNow.
  • Must be willing to work a variety of shifts, including holidays as scheduled.
  • 5+ years of experience configuring network devices.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The following are the education and experience required for this position:

  • 4-9 years of experience and Bachelor's degree
  • Previous experience with Software Defined Access (SDA) infrastructures.
  • Experience as a remote worker demonstrating time management and self discipline with cultural change management and Agile mindset.

  • Walk throughout an office and/or between several buildings.
  • Must be able to work at heights, off of a ladder, lift up to 50 pounds, use pallet jack and server lift.
  • Communicate verbally in person, over the phone or by video chat and clearly/succinctly in writing, primarily utilizing a keyboard.
  • Appear on camera for meetings with co-workers and government partners via video chat and ensure the protection of proprietary company and customer information is consistent with the company's expectation of information security.
  • Viewing computer screens and sitting for long periods of time.
  • Travel minimally, via car or plane, which requires ability to manage luggage, laptop, and briefing materials (up to 25 pounds).
