Join our team at the L.A. Pittenger Student Center Hotel and help keep our community space clean, welcoming, and ready for guests each day! This temporary morning position is perfect for early risers who take pride in creating a safe, tidy, and comfortable environment.

Hours: 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday through Sunday (flexible scheduling may apply).

Requirements: Candidates must have current authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

What you'll do and what you'll bring:

Position Description:

Under supervision, perform housekeeping duties required for the cleaning and preparation of guest rooms and public areas, following proper procedures and techniques for cleaning products and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Clean guest room and public area floors, including vacuuming and spot cleaning carpets and hard surfaces.

2. Maintain cleanliness of carpets, rugs, and upholstered furniture, including spot removal as needed.

3. Clean and service all areas in guest bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, showers, and tubs.

4. Dust, vacuum, clean, and/or polish furniture and surfaces; clean fixtures, hardware, and windows as needed.

5. Collect and dispose of trash and recycling from guest rooms and public areas.

6. Acquire and maintain knowledge of cleaning products, safety procedures, and environmental/health concerns.

7. Lock and unlock guest rooms and hotel areas as required, following hotel policies.

8. Change bed linens, make beds with clean linens, and restock guest room amenities.

9. Guide and assist student hotel employees with daily housekeeping tasks.

10. Set rooms according to housekeeping task sheets and guest specifications. 11. Report items requiring repair to supervisors or group leaders.

12. Perform other duties as assigned to support hotel operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Requires the physical ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, balance, stand, climb, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, and exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

2. Task requires the visual ability to read written materials, inspect areas, judge distances, shape, shadow, distinguish colors, etc.

3. Task requires the use of dust mop, portable vacuum, hand duster, counter brush, ladder, scaffolds, screwdriver, spray bottle, bucket, sponge, cloth, eye protection, filter mask, light bulbs and tubes, various chemical products, etc.

4. Task exposes employee to inside working conditions, noise, chemicals, fumes, odors, gases, etc.

5. Task requires the mental ability to receive and follow oral instructions and to read, comprehend, and follow written instructions and information.
