What You'll Do:

As a Workday Tester, you will validate Workday system functionality by designing and executing test cases across modules such as HCM and Payroll. You'll collaborate with functional and technical teams to understand requirements, identify defects, and ensure system changes meet business needs. You'll also support test planning, data setup, regression testing, and defect tracking to help deliver high-quality, reliable Workday solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and report on software testing for both development and maintenance phases, ensuring high-quality deliverables.

  • Develop comprehensive test plans and test procedures based on system specifications, user requirements, and technical documentation.

  • Accurately document and report defects, ensuring proper prioritization and escalation when necessary.

  • Review and provide feedback on test documentation to align with project goals.

  • Proactively identify potential risks, issues, and blockers, providing solutions and escalating concerns to team leads as appropriate.

  • Independently manages assigned work with minimal oversight from team leads.

  • Monitor software quality metrics and continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to ensure future delivery excellence.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related discipline from an accredited college or university

  • Role requires alignment with Eastern Time zone working hours

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Federal Public Trust

  • At least 3 years of software testing experience

  • At least 1 year of HRMS experience

  • Experience creating test scripts based on user stories and development tasks

  • Experience interpreting requirements, writing quality control documentation (e.g. Test Plans and Reports), and writing user acceptance test plans

  • Knowledge of Test Management, Automation toolsets and processes

  • Experience with accessibility testing including Section 508 accessibility standards

  • Great organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document defects, test results, and collaborate with cross-functional teams

  • Ability to work independently, communicate and work productively as part of fully remote and/or hybrid teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Workday HCM Certification

  • Federal Government experience

  • Experience leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

  • Public Trust Clearance or higher

  • Trusted Tester Certification

  • Experience with Jira

The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Groundswell, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

$97,756.00 - $137,530.00
