Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Data Analyst.
The laboratory of Aravinda Chakravarti is seeking an experienced bioinformatics programmer to join our genetic analysis team. This position will play a key role in leading analysis of ongoing studies of complex genetic disorders including autism, Hirschsprung disease and cardiovascular disease. Responsibilities will include WGS, WES analysis of a large scale (60k+) autism associated cohort, specialized analysis of WGS from individuals with Hirschsprung disease and down syndrome as well as analysis of functional genomics assays associated with hypertension. This role is well-suited for an individual with a PhD or higher. The ideal candidate will excel at combining independence, leadership and project management with teamwork and professionalism. An interest in contributing to manuscript and grant writing is a plus.
Job Responsibilities:
- Initiates, interprets, organizes, executes, and coordinates research assignments critical to the project's mission.
- Explores subject area and defines scope and selection of problems for investigation through conceptually related studies or series of projects of lesser scope.
- Ensures timely and accurate completion of research projects.
- May develop protocols for the collection and quality of research data.
- Develops research techniques, software and methodologies.
- Identify and resolve technical problems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years of experience required. Preferred Qualifications: PhD Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
