*** Full- Time Monday- Friday 7:30 A.M.- 5:30 P.M., Pay Rate: $20.00 Per Hour*** **** TEMPORARY POSITION 06/03/2026- 08/14/2026*** The Salvation Army Mission: The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Summary/Primary Purpose: The Head Counselor is responsible for program and counseling leadership for assigned counselors and approximately 40 campers. This role assists in General Staff Orientation and in implementing all rules to all program staff members during the summer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position is responsible for seven counselors. Education and/or Experience: Minimum three years of college preferred with a preference for 6 months related experience in a personal relationship with Christ and working with youth. Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.
Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business. Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Safe From Harm, CPR and First Aid. Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
