Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities: This role plays a critical part in supporting reliable and efficient market operations by enhancing tools, procedures, and operator readiness. It involves leading initiatives to improve operational awareness, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and support market participation. The position also contributes to strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement efforts that strengthen market operations performance and decision-making capabilities. Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Assist in the design and enhancement of operator displays and tools within the Energy Management System (EMS), promoting situational awareness and operational efficiency. * Implement alarm management across EMS and Distributed Control Systems (DCS), ensuring timely and accurate alerting for system events. * Manage the implementation of new market tools and coordinate resolution of issues associated with existing tools. * Develop, review, and maintain operational procedures to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant system performance. * Identify manual processes that can be eliminated or optimized using automation and digitization efforts * Support the training and development of system operators, providing guidance on compliance, procedures, and market operations. * Act as a Subject Matter Expert and help determine operations and compliance strategies to support NERC Compliance including participation during NERC Audits. * Develop expertise in Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) market protocols and business practices, supporting market participation, settlements, and strategic decision-making. * Support internal customers with analyses, recommendations, and presentations to inform decision making
Education and Experience Requirements: A bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, computer science, information systems, engineering or other related fields is required. While the ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in designing and enhancing systems and programs that support critical business processes, candidates with at least two years of demonstrated experience will be considered. The following experience or a fundamental understanding of concepts in the following areas is highly preferred: EMS/DCS systems configuration and process enhancements; NERC standards and credential maintenance; RSO/ITO Market operations and protocols; Identifying and implementing process improvements using automation tools; Supporting operator readiness through documentation and training programs. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:
- Excellent verbal, written and technical report writing skills
- Must be proficient in the Microsoft Suite
- Working knowledge of data analytics
- The ability to perform general coding/programming to improve daily activities or automate tasks
- Must be able to work independently with little supervision, perform in a team environment as well as effectively communicate with others
- Must possess good problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Must possess ability to understand work processes and identify areas for continuous improvement
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Familiarity with gas combined cycle and simple cycle plant technologies, coal fired power plants, wind turbines, solar plants, nuclear power plants and associated systems and operation is preferred
- Knowledge of NERC and SPP reliability and compliance requirements related to System Operations also preferred.

Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required: Must possess a valid driver's license. Working Conditions: Normal office working conditions.
