Under general supervision, the EVS Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating inpatient bed cleaning requests across UCSD to support timely patient flow. This position monitors bed status systems, receives and prioritizes cleaning requests, and dispatches EVS staff efficiently to ensure beds move promptly from discharge to clean and ready. The role maintains awareness of unit activity, anticipated surges in demand, and staffing availability to adjust priorities in real time. The EVS Dispatcher is the central coordination point between Mission Control, ECS and Nursing to relay bed readiness updates and promptly escalate delays or barriers affecting bed availability. This position also tracks and reviews metrics such as response times and delayed cleans and assists in identifying patterns that may require workflow adjustments. The EVS Dispatcher supports daily operations by ensuring accurate documentation, consistent communication, and smooth coordination between EVS teams and hospital departments. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $57,399 - $71,347 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $27.49 - $34.17 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
