• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• 5-8 years of machine shop experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Prior lead or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift 50 pounds

Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC and/or manual machine tools in a production environment to manufacture parts according to blueprints, specifications, and work instructions
• Lead, assign, and coordinate daily work activities for Machinists and Machine Operators to support production priorities
• Support production scheduling, workload coordination, and short-term planning in partnership with machine shop supervision
• Provide leadership and technical support for automation initiatives, including lights-out and unattended machining processes
• Collaborate with Programming to set up, prove out, and optimize new and existing part numbers
• Work closely with Jig & Fixture Tool Makers, Machinists, Supervisors, and Management to improve processes, tooling, and production throughput
• Set and reinforce expectations for teamwork, accountability, and a positive shop culture aligned with operational goals
• Perform routine machine maintenance, including lubrication, cleaning, and degreasing, to ensure equipment reliability
• Load parts for machining and perform in-process and periodic quality inspections to ensure conformance to specifications
• Inspect finished parts to verify quality and compliance with engineering and customer requirements
• Coordinate across shifts to ensure effective handoffs regarding machine condition, workload status, and priority ("Must Ship") jobs
