The Aquatic Coordinator is accountable for the programs and activities conducted in the facility aquatics and pool area and supervision of aquatic instructors and lifeguards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. High School diploma or GED.

2. AED / CPR Certified

3. Current Lifeguard Certification through the American Red Cross, United States Lifesaving Association (USLA), or American Lifeguard Association (ALA).

EXPERIENCE:

1. One (1) year experience in a supervisory role within the health/fitness or aquatics industry.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE:

1. Three (3) years' experience as a lifeguard.

1. Responsible for the recruitment, selection and development of the pool area staff and for insuring that the employees work as a team in achieving the facility's goals.

2. Responsible for work schedules of aquatic staff.

3. Fosters an aquatic environment that maximizes safety and leads to guest satisfaction. Assures that guests receive optimum customer service.

4. Accountable for the overall maintenance and cleanliness of the aquatics and pool equipment and facilities.

5. Maintains written policy/procedure manuals for the pool area.

6. Conducts regular meetings; provides continuing education activities; and performs regular performance reviews on all direct reports.

7. Ensures that all pool staff are appropriately trained and can demonstrate appropriate response to water related emergencies according to facility policy and procedures.

8.

Oversees proper maintenance of pool environment to ensure that it meets all required local health codes and member needs (includes monitoring and balancing water chemistry, monitoring and maintaining pool temperatures and monitoring and maintaining cleanliness of the pool).
