Reimagine What's Possible

The Air Separation Unit Operations Technician is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a cryogenic ASU producing industrial gases such as oxygen (O), nitrogen (N), and argon (Ar). This role monitors and controls process equipment, performs routine inspections and adjustments, responds to alarms and upsets, and works closely with maintenance and engineering to ensure continuous production while meeting safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor ASU processes including air compression and purification

  • Control plant operations via DCS/PLC systems and local field controls

  • Start up, shut down, and transition units per operating procedures

  • Follow all process safety management (PSM) requirements

  • Ensure product purity and specification compliance

  • Perform basic operator maintenance

  • Maintain accurate production and operating logs

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • High School Diploma / GED

  • Solid knowledge of plant operations and ASU processes

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to adhere to safety protocols strictly

  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities

  • Proven ability to identify and report unsafe conditions

  • High attention to detail and quality control

  • Ability to successfully implement corrective actions

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role

  • This is a safetysensitive position

  • Military experience is a plus

  • Strong mechanical proficiency required

  • Must be willing to take 24 hour on-call responsibilities

  • Must be a self-starter and willing to work alone.

  • Strong oral and written communications skills.

  • Teammate that is flexible and has a positive demeanor.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to climb ladders and steps and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Will be exposed to a high noise environment

  • Be able to meet call-in requirements as needed.

  • Elevated work required.
