GENERAL FUNCTION
The Director, Professional Affairs (National Key Accounts) is a senior clinical and professional-affairs leader supporting large national organizations. This role provides clinical expertise, scientific context, and professional credibility for the organization's product portfolio, including Stellest lenses and emerging innovations.

As a trusted clinical partner, the Director collaborates with internal stakeholders and external medical leaders to ensure accurate understanding of product science, appropriate use, and evidence-based differentiation. The role supports executive-level engagement with Medical Directors, clinical leadership, and senior decision-makers within National Key Account organizations. This position aligns professional education, clinical strategy, and scientific exchange across high-impact accounts while ensuring compliance with regulatory, legal, and industry standards.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Serve as the primary professional-affairs lead for National Key Accounts, providing clinical expertise and scientific credibility for complex organizations.
  • Engage Medical Directors, clinical leadership, and internal stakeholders to deliver accurate, balanced, evidence-based product and clinical information.
  • Lead executive-level scientific and professional engagements tailored to the structures, care models, and clinical priorities of National Key Accounts.
  • Develop and deliver compliant professional education initiatives, clinical resources, and evidence-based materials aligned with regulatory standards.
  • Translate clinical data and scientific evidence into clear insights that support informed decision-making within large eyecare organizations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, Marketing, Government Affairs, Communications, and other partners to ensure aligned execution.
  • Identify clinical education needs and practice trends within National Key Accounts to inform broader professional-affairs strategies.
  • Represent the organization at professional meetings, advisory forums, and industry events as a senior clinical expert.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key external stakeholders, including ECP consultants, academic leaders, and professional associations.
  • Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations, medical-affairs standards, and industry codes of conduct.
  • Manage planning, reporting, analytics, and resource allocation for National Key Account professional-affairs activities.


QUALIFICATIONS



  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in eye care, professional affairs, medical affairs, professional education, or related clinical leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior clinical and executive stakeholders through scientific credibility and relationship management.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills in regulated environments.
  • Established optometry network preferred.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements for medical and professional-affairs activities.
  • Excellent communication skills, including public speaking and executive-level presentations.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50-75%, including occasional weekends.
