IT Network Intern

This internship has an on-site requirement. Remote candidacy will not be considered.

Role Overview: The IT Network intern will assist with the Suffolk Credit Union helpdesk and Network Administration team to provide quality technology and hardware support under the direct supervision of the Director of Network Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with help desk calls, scheduling, and tickets
• Basic end-user support to prevent customer service delays for basic technical issues
• Assist in the maintenance of IT standards and documentation
• Under the guidance of Director of Network Administration, inventory technology equipment
• Assist in installation of PC hardware and software
• Perform special projects as determined by the information technology department
• Accomplishes the credit union's mission by completing relevant duties as needed when requested by management or other staff members

Essential Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must be enrolled in an accredited college program pursuing an Associate's/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology with demonstrated experience in a professional environment.

• Excellent written & oral communication skills
• Motivated self-starter
• Ability to grasp new concepts
• Proficient computer and technical skills (Particularly with Microsoft Office Suite)
• Ability to work within a team environment

Equipment Used:

• Office equipment, including: Personal computer, printer, calculator (including financial calculator), copier, fax, multi-line phone and multiple laptop or tablet computers
• Computerized equipment, including: Servers, routers, switches, firewalls, network access points, audio/visual projectors, televisions, video console
