Warehouse Supervisor - Manufacturing | Silgan Closures - Kingsport, TN

Silgan Closures, a global Fortune 500 leader in sustainable packaging, is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for our manufacturing facility in Kingsport, TN. This role is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations including receiving, shipping, inventory flow, safety, equipment, and personnel management to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant warehouse performance.

What You'll Do as the Warehouse Supervisor:

Warehouse Operations

• Oversee inbound and outbound shipments: ensure accuracy of BOLs and load documentation
• Coordinate with Planning, Production, Quality, and Inside Sales to ensure efficient material flow
• Manage receiving activities including staging, counting, inspection, and documentation
• Ensure proper storage, inventory rotation, and warehouse organization
• Support accurate shipment of international and hazardous material orders
• Manage dunnage inventory and movement to support production demands

Safety & Compliance

• Lead forklift safety audits and warehouse safety initiatives
• Serve as a member of the Plant Safety Committee
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, GMP's, sanitation and 5S
• Oversee forklift maintenance and preventive maintenance schedules

Inventory & Documentation

• Ensure accuracy of receiving reports, inventory records and paperwork flow
• Resolve discrepancies involving invoices, packing slips and receiving documentation
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and standardize warehouse procedures

Leadership & D

• Maintain staffing levels to support warehouse goals
• Train, coach, and develop warehouse employees
• Provide performance feedback, documentation, and corrective action as needed
• Administer the Union Contract as applicable

Budget & Resources

• Recommend annual budget requirements for the warehouse department
• Evaluate and recommend material handling equipment needs

What You'll Need to Have:

• Associate or bachelor's degree preferred in Business Management, Industrial Management, or related field
• 3-5 years of experience in Warehouse, Receiving, Inventory Control, or Materials Management in a manufacturing environment
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and material handling practices
• Experience with bar code systems and EDI is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Familiarity with AS400 preferred
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50 lb. boxes/buckets to a height of six feet.
• Must be able to work in extreme climates in summer and winter on the rail siding.
• Certified to drive forklift, scissor lift, and pallet jack
