Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud.Within CO&I, theEngineering Procurement & Construction (EPC)organizationis responsible fordelivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft's cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. ThisDatacenter Delivery Senior MEP Field Engineerposition will fulfill an on-site role at Microsoft's Atlanta datacenter campusessupporting ongoing construction activities. This role will serve as a daily on-site presence to review progress and support qualityassurance in thefieldofmultiple concurrent datacenter builds. The position willbe responsible formonitoring progress for compliance with construction documents frominitialstages through commissioning andworkclosely with the engineering, procurement,controlsand construction teams. Additionally, this role will provide project managementrecommendations,technicalreview,assistindecision-makingprocessand overall leadershipin support of the build vendorson behalf ofconstructionthroughout the construction lifecycle up to and including the turnover to Microsoft Datacenter Operations. Assuchthey will support multi-discipline coordination, issue identification and resolution, continuous improvement efforts, and the ongoing documentation of project learnings for incorporation into future designs.

Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates must relocateorresidewithin 50 miles of the hub office location.

This role isnoteligible for hybrid or remote work.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-sitein thefieldmechanical/ electrical/ plumbing Project Engineerthroughout construction of a multi-year datacenter campus development.

• Perform regular site walks toobserveprogress, review construction vs design intent, and flag potential concerns forconstruction and quality reviews.

• Close working relationship with all MSFT site personnel - attending construction-based quality and assurance meetings, attend schedule and milestone review sessions,attend owner-architect- contractor meetings, provide support to the Quality Assurance team inidentifyingpotential issues.

• Review construction drawings, specifications, design guides/standards, sequences of operation, and commissioning documents for technical compliance.

• Expectation is thepositionwill be in the field at least 50 percent of the time.

• Facilitatetimelyresponse and enable seamless project execution.

Required/minimum qualifications:

• 7+ years related technical engineering or building engineering experience

• ORBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineeringor Electrical Engineering or Construction Management orArchitectureorrelated field AND 4+ years related technical engineering experience

• OR Master's degree inMechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Construction Management orArchitecture ,or related field AND 3+ years related technical engineering experience

• OR Doctorate degree inMechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Construction Management or Architecture

• OR equivalent experience.

• Experience in reviewing construction drawings, project specifications

• Experience in construction of buildings with a focus on MEP systems.

• Ability to perform in depth in field construction reviewsandidentifymissing, deficient,and ornon-complete work related to MEP systems.

• Knowledgeable in construction techniques,scheduling, productionreview withthe ability to interpret construction drawings and requirement documents.
