Responsibilities:

As a Labor & Delivery RN you will provide compassionate, familycentered care to patients throughout labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period. Using the nursing process, the RN prioritizes and delivers safe, evidencebased care while efficiently managing time and resources. This role collaborates closely with patients, families, and the healthcare team to support healthy outcomes and an exceptional birth experience.

  • Provide direct care to laboring, birthing, and postpartum patients, including assessment, monitoring, and documentation.
  • Support labor and delivery through clinical interventions, patient education, and emotional guidance; assist with deliveries and obstetric procedures.
  • Recognize and respond quickly to changes in maternal or fetal status, including obstetric emergencies.
  • Collaborate with providers and the care team to coordinate individualized plans of care and meet patient and family learning needs.
  • Maintain clinical competencies, uphold safety and quality standards, and serve as a resource and role model for unit staff.

Qualifications:

Licensure: State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License or Graduate Nurse Permit required
Academic Preparation:
Degree from accredited academic nursing program
Minimum ADN preparation with expectation of BSN completion within 5 years of hire
