Responsibilities

Peraton Remotec is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead engineering operations within a manufacturing environment supporting the development and production of advanced robotic systems. This role provides leadership to the engineering organization while driving innovation, product development, and cost optimization initiatives that support mission-critical solutions for our customers.

The ideal candidate will oversee engineering staff, guide technical strategies, and ensure the successful execution of new product development and enhancements to existing robotic systems. This leader will also drive value engineering and value analysis initiatives to improve product performance, manufacturability, and lifecycle cost while supporting operational efficiency within the manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

    Lead and manage the engineering team responsible for product design, development, and manufacturing support.
  • Provide organizational leadership, mentoring, and performance management for engineering staff while fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture.
  • Conduct assessments of the engineering organization to ensure proper structure, capabilities, and alignment with company objectives.
  • Lead new product development efforts for robotic systems, including concept development, design, prototyping, testing, and transition to manufacturing.
  • Drive enhancements and upgrades to existing robotic and automated product lines.
  • Implement value engineering and value analysis initiatives to reduce costs, improve product performance, and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to improve product design, manufacturability, and production efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate robotics, automation, and advanced manufacturing technologies into production environments.
  • Ensure engineering processes, documentation, and design standards are aligned with company and industry requirements.
  • Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing operations.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience, may have supervisory or lead experience
  • Must have extensive engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated engineering leadership experience across multiple disciplines.
  • Demonstratable experience developing technical requirements, cost estimates, schedules, and performance criteria for new product introduction.
  • Demonstratable experience executing product-based value engineering and value analysis efforts within manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstratable experience developing and maintaining product roadmaps that address emerging market requirements.
  • Experience working with robotic systems, automation technologies, or advanced manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience supporting first responder agencies / customers
  • Experience working in highly regulated or government-focused industries

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
