| Position Summary |
The Director, Dining Services Business Operations & Strategic Initiatives (
BOSI) will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for guest experience, operations support, food safety, facilities and maintenance, sustainability initiatives, and capital project management. The Director, Dining Services
BOSI, reports to the Executive Director of Dining Services and is responsible for ensuring the success of the
UGA Dining Services program through process improvement initiatives, financial stewardship, and efficiency optimization. This position collaborates with campus stakeholders, develops long-term business strategies, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement and team development. Additionally, the Director, Dining Services
BOSI leads sustainability initiatives within dining operations, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, responsible sourcing, and alignment with university sustainability goals.

| Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies |
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, or relevant discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a high-volume collegiate dining setting.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams, including operational staff, in a complex, high-volume food service environment.
- Proficiency in dining technology systems (FoodPro, Atrium, Transact)
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budget oversight.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance related to health codes, food safety standards, workplace safety protocols, and procurement policies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Operational Leadership
- Ensure consistent day-to-day execution of UGA Dining Services policies and procedures while maintaining service standards and operational protocols.
- Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with employees, guests, support partners, and other departments within the UGA Dining Services and University community.
- Reinforce individual and team accountability for assigned tasks, monitor staff performance, coach employees to effect change behavior, and implement appropriate action plans with deliverables when needed.
- Review and analyze financial statements to execute strategic plans that include financial priorities to support the department's overall goals.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives to ensure goals in the areas of waste reduction, recycling, and composting are being met.
- Collaborate with leadership to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for continuous improvement in customer satisfaction, food safety, maintenance efficiency, and service quality.
- Ensure dining facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained with all equipment in good working order.

- Guide change management initiatives and ensure team engagement during transitional periods.
- Conduct regular evaluations of operational efficiency programs, collecting feedback and refining content to align with evolving industry standards and operational goals.
- Develop fiscal benchmarks, refine service-delivery strategies, and introduce innovative dining concepts to elevate the university's food service program to maintain profitability without compromising service quality.
- Engage and collaborate with external consultants and industry veterans to develop and refine best practices related to university dining programs.
