2026 Intern - IMS Enhanced Middle Office Bank Debt Intern

Our Internship Program provides undergraduate students with a structured and meaningful learning experience designed to prepare them for future careers and help them make informed decisions about their professional aspirations. This 10-week opportunity focuses on building foundational business knowledge while helping interns understand how to effectively operate and grow in a corporate environment.

This opportunity is part of SEI's broader professional and leadership development continuum, designed to support early career talent as they explore potential career paths. While the internship does not guarantee full-time placement, it provides meaningful exposure to SEI's culture, ways of working, and development opportunities that may support future consideration for additional early career programs.

Interns will work in a hybrid model from our corporate headquarters in Oaks, Pennsylvania.

In addition to on-the-job experience, Interns can expect to:

Qualities successful interns bring to SEI
  • Academic achievement in Business or Technology related fields of study such as finance, accounting, economics, marketing, computer science, or data analytics

  • Leadership involvement in university or community organizations (e.g., charities, clubs, athletic teams, honor societies)

  • A grade point average of 3.5 or above

  • General awareness of artificial intelligence (AI) concepts and an interest in learning how AI can be used responsibly and effectively in a professional work environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

IMS Bank Debt Team Overview:

The Bank Debt team sits within Investment Manager Services (IMS) and provides enhanced middle office support for institutional loan investors. The team partners closely with clients and internal groups to support the full lifecycle of bank loan investments, including trade processing, loan activity, reconciliations, and ongoing servicing. The group manages high-volume, detail-intensive workflows and plays a critical role in ensuring accurate reporting, timely processing of credit events, and strong operational controls for complex loan portfolios.

IMS Bank Debt Intern:

The Bank Debt Intern will support the Enhanced Middle Office (EMO) Bank Debt team within Investment Manager Services (IMS), assisting with the daytoday operational activities that support institutional bank loan portfolios. The intern will gain handson exposure to the full lifecycle of bank loan investments, including trade support, loan activity processing, reconciliations, and servicing functions. Working closely with analysts and supervisors, the intern will help ensure accurate and timely processing of loan data while developing a foundational understanding of bank debt products, credit facilities, and operational controls.

On a daily basis, the intern will assist with reviewing and organizing loan notices received from agent banks and thirdparty providers, supporting the application and validation of loan activity such as interest, principal, and other credit events. The intern will help with data checks, reconciliations, and exception tracking, escalating discrepancies to senior team members as appropriate. Additional responsibilities may include supporting trade documentation workflows, assisting with settlement coordination tasks, maintaining trackers, and helping prepare internal reports or summaries used by the team to monitor processing status and outstanding items. Through this role, the intern will build practical skills in financial operations, attention to detail, and crossteam collaboration while supporting a highvolume, detailoriented bank debt platform.

Criteria:
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field

  • Relevant coursework preferred (e.g., Financial Accounting, Investments, Corporate Finance, Economics)

  • Demonstrated interest in financial markets, credit products, or alternative investments

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with highvolume financial data

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office (ability to review data, use templates, and maintain trackers)

  • Ability to follow documented procedures and standardized workflows

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable working in a deadlinedriven, operational environment

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and escalate issues appropriately

  • Professionalism and ability to collaborate effectively with analysts, supervisors, and internal partners

  • Prior exposure to financial operations, reconciliations, or data validation is a plus, but not required.
