Position Overview

The Sr. Director, HCP Marketing is responsible for setting the vision and leading the national and regional marketing strategy for Cologuard, and a growing cancer screening portfolio, as it relates to increasing product adoption to Healthcare Providers (HCPs), including primary care and specialty audiences. This includes leading teams responsible for resource development to execute against the strategy, establishing an omnichannel marketing approach for promotion (including leading the infrastructure build and transition to this end state), leading a team of regional marketers to deliver localized impact for the brand, and engaging key opinion leaders (KOLs) across the cancer screening marketplace. In addition, this role is responsible for ensuring strategic alignment and integration cross-functionally with stakeholders including Sales, Medical Affairs, Access, Outcomes, and Population Health, Customer Experience, Customer Effectiveness Team (training), and leading the analytics plan, measurement, and progress against performance goals. Establishing a culture of innovation and experimentation, with strong measurement tools, will be critical for success.

This role will be a member of the senior leader marketing team, reporting directly to the Vice President, Screening Marketing.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead and develop strategy behind and execution of personal and non-personal selling materials for HCPs, thought-leader engagement, and other innovative national & localized promotional efforts to support Cologuard, and a growing cancer screening portfolio, across primary care and specialty markets (e.g., GI, NP/PA and OB/GYN).
  • Build commercial engagement and promotional plan(s) for thought leaders and practitioners, mainly from the areas of primary care and gastroenterology, who are shaping the field of colorectal cancer screening and prevention.
  • Contribute to strategic development (alongside media planning lead), and oversee execution of multi-channel paid media plan, and necessary content strategy, to achieve and exceed goals and key performance indicators (KPIs). This also includes owned channels.
  • Work with insights & analytics team to improve brand and tactical measurement capabilities. Lead investment decisions for the HCP marketing team.
  • Work across all of Screening Marketing (consumer, health systems, organized customers) and Local Market Field Leadership to deliver tailored engagements that address specific customer needs, while ensuring delivery of a common and aligned brand strategy.
  • Manage multiple external creative, media and medical education agencies to deliver against the plan and within budget.
  • Effectively manage multi-million dollar budget. Ensure appropriate tracking, invoicing, and reconciliation occurs.
  • Work closely with sales leadership to ensure field execution aligns with brand strategies to drive revenue. Support field sales teams with the resources they need to effectively promote our products.
  • Lead teams to ensure appropriate development of HCP materials in accordance with legal, regulatory, and medical policies.
  • Support key elements of the Cologuard lifecycle plans, including future commercial launch executions of the product to HCPs.
  • Analyze primary and secondary market research, measure, and track performance of key tactics through commercial analytics.

  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to travel 25% of working time away from work location; may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or field related to job duties.
  • 12+ years of experience working in marketing or brand management.
  • 5+ years of direct leadership experience including hiring, coaching, and developing talent.
  • Proficient computer skills to include Internet navigation, Email usage, and word processing.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or field related to job duties.
  • Experience working in a gastroenterology, women's health, oncology, primary care sales, or commercial position.

Salary Range:

$213,000.00 - $363,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis and may differ by hiring location. In addition, this position is bonus eligible.
