What to Expect
This position is a key member of the Instrumentation, Calibration, and Metrology Group at our new Semi manufacturing facility. You will support production validation, quality assurance, and reliability testing of the Tesla Semi and future vehicle platforms. The role ensures the accuracy and traceability of all test and measurement equipment used in-house and at external labs. You will calibrate instruments critical to semiconductor-grade precision in automotive manufacturing, maintain calibration systems, and collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

What You'll Do
  • Implement and maintain comprehensive calibration programs for test and measurement equipment across the facility
  • Perform calibrations and verifications on a wide range of equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, surface resistance meters, charged plate monitors, footwear/wrist strap testers, and other precision instruments
  • Perform ESD testing (e.g., resistance, voltage, charge decay, and discharge simulations) to validate protection effectiveness and support measurement accuracy
  • Monitor and maintain ESD control equipment (ionizers, wrist straps, testers, mats, etc.) and coordinate calibrations or repairs as needed
  • Conduct compliance verification of calibrated equipment against quality systems and manufacturing procedures
  • Schedule and track calibration due dates, coordinate with external vendors, and manage equipment recall/return processes
  • Maintain accurate records of calibrations, certificates, audits, tests, and compliance documentation in quality management systems

What You'll Bring
  • 2+ years of experience in calibration, metrology, electronics manufacturing, or a semiconductor environment
  • Strong understanding of calibration principles, measurement uncertainty, and traceability to national standards
  • Hands-on proficiency with calibration equipment and procedures for electrical/electronic test instruments, including ESD test equipment
  • Ability to perform calibrations, interpret results, and implement corrective actions
  • Familiarity with quality systems and compliance verification in a manufacturing setting
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to produce clear calibration reports and documentation
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
