Mercyhealth, an award-winning fully integrated health care delivery organization based in Wisconsin and Illinois, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our well-established Neurosurgery practice in Rockford, IL. - Provide quality health care services to patients in the clinic and hospital setting under the direction and supervision of department neurosurgeons by performing the following duties in a compassionate and cost-effective manner.
- Examine patients, perform comprehensive physical examinations, and compile patient medical data, including health history and results of examination in both hospital and clinic settings.
- Administer and/or order appropriate diagnostictests, laboratory tests appropriate for neurosurgical patients and interpret test results for deviations from normal. Perform therapeutic procedures including suture removal and wound care management.
- Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, complete discharge summaries, and assist in provision of continuity of care.
- Assist neurosurgeon with in-patient hospital rounds and emergency department consultations.
- Perform first-assistant duties in the operating room.
- May be required to work flexible hours.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program
- Hold valid IL APRN or PA license.
- Other certifications as required.
- Highly collaborative and self-motivated
- Ability to work very well with neurosurgery team and other partners.
- Strong communication skills when working with patients, patient families, and coworkers.

$85,280.00 - $144,976.00
