Position description

Jr. Specialist - Abuabara Research Group

We are a research group studying atopic dermatitis disease course and comorbidities, environmental drivers of inflammatory skin disease, comparative effectiveness of treatments, and skin barrier function and aging.

The individual hired for this position will support ongoing research projects. Responsibilities may include:

* Assisting with patient visits and laboratory testing, including coordinating schedules, collecting samples, and ensuring proper documentation

* Conducting literature searches and background research to support study design, manuscripts, and grant proposals

* Performing data checks, quality control, and proofreading for manuscripts, reports, and presentations

* Setting up and managing REDCap surveys, including survey design, data entry, and troubleshooting

* Generating tables, figures, and visual summaries of study results for presentations and publications

* Cleaning, retrieving, and organizing datasets, ensuring data integrity and consistency

* Assisting with study protocols, regulatory documentation, and standard operating procedures

* Supporting team meetings and contributing to discussions on study design, data interpretation, and problem-solving

* Collaborating with research staff, clinicians, and trainees to facilitate smooth project workflow

Funding for this position is available for two years from the date of hire.

Required Qualifications:

* Specialists appointed at the Junior rank must possess a BA/BS degree (or equivalent degree) or at least four years of research experience, at the time of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

* Interest in learning and contributing to clinical and epidemiologic research

* Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based research environment

* Experience with patient-facing research activities

* Experience with REDCap, data analysis, or manuscript preparation
