Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Driver Patrol in Elkton, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will conduct routine rounds, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with professional service and clear communication. This is an armed, driving post requiring a valid driver's license, where you may patrol multiple areas, respond to calls for assistance, document observations, and partner with site teams. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site employees, visitors, and vendors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and reporting concerns to site leadership as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations in a healthcare location.
  • Control access by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying identification and/or authorization as required, and directing individuals to the proper destination within the facility.
  • Complete routine security-related logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation, and communicate relevant information during shift change and/or to supervisors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
